Microchip Technology declares dividend

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Microchip Technology Inc., which makes semiconductors and microcontrollers, said Wednesday it would pay a quarterly cash dividend next month.

The company said the dividend of 34 cents per share would be payable Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 18.

Microchip shares rose 26 cents to $24.41 in regular trading, then added 74 cents, or 3 percent, to $25.20 in extended trading after the company reported Sept. 30-quarter results that beat analysts' forecasts.
