NYC TV newsman guilty of attempted assault on wife
SUFFERN, N.Y. (AP) - A judge has convicted an influential New York City television newsman of attempting to assault his wife. The Rockland County district attorney's office issued a one-sentence statement Friday saying Dominic Carter was found guilty of third-degree attempted assault.

By GEMMA CASAS Associated Press Writer SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands (AP) - A gunman went on a rampage on the Pacific resort island of Saipan Friday, first at a shooting range and then at a World War II historical site, killing four people and wounding six others before fatally shooting himself, officials said.
